Ecru/grey pearl cat hammock + wooden stand

It's in the heart of Nicaragua, where traditional craftsmanship is a source of pride, that we've created this ecru/gray pearl cat hammock with its raw wood stand. Not only is this set cute for our furry friends, it also represents the skill of local craftsmen and the strength of their traditions.

The ecru/grey pearl cat hammock: Exclusive to Hamac del Sol

This ecru/gray pearl cat hammock is identical to the traditional cotton hammocks found in Nicaragua, which we offer on the our bar hammocks page. They are woven with the same care and passion and differ from the industrial versions of cheap cat hammocks. It embodies true quality and is made to last. It's a tribute to artisanal techniques that have lasted for generations. To understand how this unique object is made, please read our article : Our luxury cat hammock: Behind the scenes.

Natural elegance of raw wood: Guanacaste

The raw wood support is particularly interesting as it's made from Costa Rica's national tree: Guanacaste, the country's cultural pillar and emblem since 1959. In love with this high-quality exotic wood, local cabinetmakers use it to make furniture. Guanacaste tables and chairs are renowned for "lasting a lifetime". It's a strong wood that guarantees a long-lasting purchase.

The legend of Guanacaste

The Aztecs called it "the tree that hears" because of its broad, elephant-ear-like leaves. According to one legend, Guanacaste is even a link between our world and the afterlife. It's an extraordinary tree that deserves to be celebrated, which is why June 15 is National Tree Day in Costa Rica to encourage people to plant trees to help combat global warming.

The handcrafted charm of imperfections

Note that the two sides of the support are never exactly identical. A very slight tilt can be observed when the stand is assembled, which doesn't bother you at all once your cat is inside. If the screws are difficult to screw in at the end, don't hesitate to slightly enlarge the hole with a drill. If your hammock relaxes more than necessary due to use or your cat's heavy weight, simply readjust the outer knots of the hammock's wooden bars, to tighten it further on the support.

Worldwide ethical commitment

We're delighted to say that the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), a global organization supporting fair trade, has approved our work. This means that this cat hammock is ethically made, helping local artisans and preserving our culture. See our fair trade commitment

Nomadic comfort for your cat

Installing this ecru/gray pearl cat hammock in your home isn't just a question of style, it's also a show of support for a community of passionate artisans. Easy to move, you can put it anywhere in your home to give your cat a cozy spot. The cat hammock comes in two parts: the hammock itself, ready to hang wherever you like, with its ropes and rings, and its stand. For the curious, we invite you to discover our chair hammock in the same color, so there's no jealousy between cat and master: The "Jinopete" L chair hammock.
